What is JustFaith?
JustFaith is a conversion-based process that provides a context in which participants can grow in their commitment to care for the vulnerable and become advocates for justice. During this extended justice education process, groups meet weekly employing books, videos, guest speakers, discussion, prayer, retreats and hands-on experiences. Participants also form a community with other participants and share a journey of faith and compassion that is both life-giving and challenging.

Our JustFaith Ministry at St. Michael started three weeks ago. A challange for some of our members was the time commitment of 30 weeks. However, after our first meetings we are beginning to see the depth of this ministry. We pray to God to send us his Holy Spirit to enlighten our minds and hearts so we can hear the voice of his Son, Jesus our Lord.

I would like every week if possible to share with you part of the reading and ask you a couple of questions. I hope that by reading and reflecting on these questions it will help you in your journey as well.

We read from the book COMPASSION. A REFLECTION ON THE CHRISTIAN LIFE. HENRI J. M. NOUWEN, DONALD P. MCNEILL, AND DOUGLAS A. MORRISON.

"...God's compassion is total, absolute, unconditional, without reservation. It is compasion of the one who keeps going to the most forgotten corners of the world, and who cannot rest as long as there are still human beings with tears in their eyes. It is the compassion of a God through servanthood. God's revelation of divine love for us in coming to us as a servant is fully shown in the hymn of Christ....Ph 2: 6-8"

Have you ever met someone in your life who has shown you the virtue of compassion (servanthood)? What do you see in that person? What is Christ calling you to do?
